Wave 2 Engagement
Things are moving at pace as we lift our heads to consider how we develop the Yorkshire and Humber Care Record product offerings. We have developed a structured approach to bringing the next wave of organisations on-board. The Cancer Care and Emergency Care pathways are the areas in focus and we are confident that the Use Cases being considered by York, Harrogate and others will have real clinical value in the region.
Over the coming weeks the on-boarding team will be engaging with the clinicians across the region to ensure we meet our ambitions of having joined up health and social care across the region.
Platform, Platforms, Platforms.
As we strive to achieve cost effective clinical services across the region we are currently focusing on the YHCR cloud hosting.
After much work developing our requirements, the architects along with one of our key development partners, PA Consulting, have put together a package of proposals for hosting our technologies.
This includes networking and all the associated services of Infrastructure Design, Capacity Planning, Disaster Recovery and so forth.
Getting the right service management model around this at a cost that is right will be important for the future once the program has come to an end.
Yorkshire and Humber Digital Service/Team and supporting contract
Work is advanced in describing the service offering and value that will be provided by a future Yorkshire and Humber Digital Service to support the central YHCR components, support and help organisations on board once the program has come to an end.
This includes the sizing of the team and essentially that which will be provided in-house and that which will be provided by partners.
We had let out the tender, this week, for a framework contract for partners to support us and all regional organisations in the following
- Lot 1 – Product design, development and Support. This Lot comprises the full systems development and support lifecycle.
- Lot 2 – Discovery and change. This Lot relates to business analysis/Discovery and recommendations for change with the option of non-technical design and implementing predominantly non-technical change.
Patient Safety and Information Governance
As we build our technical capabilities across the region, it is imperative that we keep a watchful eye on maintaining patient safety. The central team have been working closely with NHS England in the development of the National IG Framework for LHCRE’s. Following months of development the IG and Patient Safety requirements are starting to firm up, this is allowing the technical teams to deeply embed these requirements in our technology build.
The YHCR’s dynamic sharing of clinical data is a leading edge approach within the NHS in England and we will be the first LHCRE to implement these IG and Clinical Safety requirements within a live service.
One London Hackathon
The Yorkshire and Humber Care Record will be represented at an event in London on 27th June at which we will demonstrate sharing of medical records between regions. Many of the suppliers to the London LHCRE will be attending will work with us to show how the YHCR System of Systems supports the care of a patient who is resident in London but requires treatment on a trip to Yorkshire. This will be the first formal evidencing of an inter LHCRE data sharing capability.
